Waypoint Port Services Ghana – Crew Change @ Takoradi Port

As part of the Schulte Group’s commitment to safeguard seafarers’ well-being and to safely embark and disembark crew members across the globe, some of whom have had to extend their time at sea as a result of COVID-19 were welcomed to Ghana by the President, Nana Akufo-Addo. The crew on board MT Immanuel Schulte underwent mandatory COVID-19 protocol at anchorage for 14 days, led by the Ghana Health Service (Port Health Authority).

Waypoint Port Services Ghana, warmly received a total of 40 seafarers, the largest crew change operations in Ghana, including 26 foreign nationals since the outbreak of the COVID-19. The embarkation and disembarkation of the crew took place on the 25th and 26th June, respectively.

Some of the Seafarers’ have been at sea for up to 13 months, so they were beyond elate to have finally been brought ashore, and now look onward to the next leg of their journey home.
